Observational Astronomy
KU astronomy research spans the universe: from exoplanets to nearby galaxies, actively accreting supermassive black holes, and galaxy clusters.
Access to Premier Facilities
Researchers at KU use world-class ground and space-based facilities, including the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona, the Very Large Array in New Mexico, the W.M. Keck Observatory on Mauna Kea in Hawaii, and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array in Chile, the Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra Observatory, and JWST.
