For Prospective Students
We encourage anyone interesting in pursuing a degree in our department to contact and speak with one of our faculty members. Specific faculty advisors for each undergraduate program are also available.
Since physics and astronomy are mathematical sciences, we encourage high school students to take any and all math and science classes available that can reasonably fit within their schedule, with an emphasis on Physics and, if possible, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Advanced Placement (AP) coursework in physics or math is not required and if taken should be considered as a preparation for university-level courses rather than a replacement for them.
If you are transferring to KU from another institution, you can determine which credits will transfer to KU using the CredTran tool.
